Acoustic hangers greatly enhance the sound insulation of MF ceilings attached to timber joists, concrete soffits, or steel frames. Commonly used when installing a secondary ceiling directly beneath an existing one.

Applications

Acoustic hangers are a good choice where you are able to lose a minimum of 100mm of ceiling height. The acoustic hanger is installed to the base material using the correct combination of fastener and washer. A penetration of a minimum of 50mm should be achieved on the chosen substrate to ensure that the applied loading can be accommodated.

Performance

Airborne sound can be increased by 3-5 dB, while impact sound transfer can be reduced by up to 6 dB. These values depend on several factors, including the depth of the void created, the inclusion of a mineral fibre slab with a minimum thickness of 100mm and a density of 45kg/m³, and the use of a double layer of Soundbloc plasterboard as the final ceiling finish.

Penny washers are included and must be used.

Delivery Lead Times

Most products on this site are stock lines, meaning under normal circumstances they'll be available for next day delivery. Some products are not kept in stock and are ordered from the manufacturer after your purchase. These products state the lead times at the top of the product pages. By default, orders containing items with different lead times will be despatched together based on the longest lead time.

Delivery Cut Off Times

The deadline for same-day despatch is 4pm, Monday to Friday. This deadline may not apply if we are unusually busy, if your order is unusually large, or if the carrier's vehicle has reached its weight limit.

Delivery Methods

We deliver nationwide using carriers DPD, Parcelforce and DX Freight. Deliveries within our local area will be made on our own transport. Tracking information will be provided shortly after despatch.
