Island Upstand (Type US)

Island upstands create a frame around a floating ceiling section. The island can be suspended directly from the soffit or below an existing ceiling, with the option to set the suspension back from the edge to enhance the floating island effect.

Technical

These trims are designed for suspended ceiling systems that use metal, mineral fibre, gypsum, plasterboard, or rigid mineral wool tiles. They have the strength to support the tiles they are made for, with a good safety margin included in their design.

However, trims should not bear loads beyond the tiles themselves, so it’s important to provide separate support for extra items like light fittings or air conditioning units. To enhance appearance and sound insulation, a bead of silicone mastic can be applied between the trim and the wall. Perimeter trims should always be backed with a layer of wallboard and must not be attached directly to the building’s structural framing.

Delivery Lead Times

Most products on this site are stock lines, meaning under normal circumstances they'll be available for next day delivery. Some products are not kept in stock and are ordered from the manufacturer after your purchase. These products state the lead times at the top of the product pages. By default, orders containing items with different lead times will be despatched together based on the longest lead time.

Delivery Cut Off Times

The deadline for same-day despatch is 4pm, Monday to Friday. This deadline may not apply if we are unusually busy, if your order is unusually large, or if the carrier's vehicle has reached its weight limit.

Delivery Methods

We deliver nationwide using carriers DPD, Parcelforce and DX Freight. Deliveries within our local area will be made on our own transport. Tracking information will be provided shortly after despatch.
